10 Years Later: EDC Lineup 2014 to 2024

As we approach EDC Las Vegas 2024, let’s rewind the clock and take a look at this year’s lineup compared to that of 2014, ten years prior. By contrasting the lineups from 2014 and the upcoming 2024 edition, we get a glimpse into how the scene and music taste has changed over the years.

Back in 2014, EDC Vegas hosted a staggering lineup spanning hundreds of artists across the electronic music spectrum. While stacked with the biggest mainstream EDM names at the time like Avicii, Tiësto, Calvin Harris, and Hardwell, the 2014 bill featured an incredibly diverse mix of acts. From heavy hitters like Bingo Players, Showtek, and Knife Party repping electro house to underground legends like Green Velvet, Art Department, and Justin Martin flying the tech house flag, EDC‘s 2014 lineup was more electro house heavy which was indictive of the tastes of the time. Trance was well-represented (and still continues to be represented) by the likes of Armin van Buuren, Infected Mushroom, and Dash Berlin, while bass music enthusiasts could catch sets from 12th Planet, Downlink, and the then-emerging Destroid project.

Fast forward to 2024 and this diversity remains, though the genres dominating the bill have clearly shifted. Techno and drum & bass have surged in popularity, with heavy hitters like Adam Beyer, Nicole Moudaber, Amelie Lens, Dimension, and Wilkinson earning top billings. The hard dance domain also maintains its EDC presence through artists like Da Tweekaz, Sub Zero Project, and Lil Texas.

Trance still holds a strong foothold in 2024, as veterans like Ferry Corsten, Aly & Fila, and Andrew Rayel are joined by a new generation including AVIRA.

While the shifting tides of electronic music have touched all corners of the lineup, perhaps the most notable evolution is the rise of the back-to-back (B2B) set as a festival staple. Where they were a relative rarity in 2014, B2B performances are now a core draw, with marquee pairings like Carl Cox B2B Nicole Moudaber, John Summit B2B Green Velvet, and Subtronics B2B Level Up highlighting the 2024 bill.

Amid this sea of change, a few core names have remained fixtures, bridging the gap between the two eras. EDC Vegas stalwarts like Steve Aoki, Fedde Le Grand, Armin van Buuren, Infected Mushroom, Carl Cox, and Darren Styles graced the lineup in both 2014 and 2024 – a testament to their lasting relevance and the festival’s continued ability to attract the biggest artists in the game.

As the popularity of electronic music continues to explode globally, so too has the star power gracing the annual EDC Vegas pilgrimage.
