ilesoniq must see

ÎleSoniq’s epic 10th anniversary is finally here this weekend, don’t miss these 10 must-see artists.

This is your guide for the top 10 sets to see over the two-day long festival weekend at Parc Jean Drapeau in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Which is officially this weekend. This is their decade anniversary and will feature three stages:

  1. OASIS stage which is maybe considered the main stage sponsored by Bell
  2. Mirage stage which can be considered the bass stage is sponsored by Beachday Everyday.
  3. Neon stage which could be considered the tech/ house stage which is sponsored by Coca-Cola.

Here are the 10 sets you absolutely need to catch over the weekend:

Saturday, August 9

  • kat2kat — 2:00 PM — Mirage Stage (Beachday Everyday)

Start your festival off with Montreal’s very own kat2kat. She is no stranger to the Montreal crowd appearing on stage opening for Sullivan King and spinning wub sounds at Igloofest. Her set will be full of wonky beats and may include her very own produced song “Womp things”

  • Frank Walker — 3:45 PM — Bell OASIS

If you’re chasing good energy Frank Walker’s set will deliver. This Canadian DJ/producer is known for sets that are perfect for summer time vibes. With an early set it will help set the tone for the weekend hopefully nothing but sunshine for the whole weekend.

  • Steve Aoki — 5:45 PM — Bell OASIS (Main Stage)

Steve Aoki always delivers a theatrical EDM set with explosive visuals, and cake tossing. His sets are as sweet as Azucar “sugar” all because of the upbeat energy that comes with a side of cake. Who knows maybe the new dad will bring out a little guest helper to assist with the cake tossing.

  • BUNT. — 6:45 PM — Mirage Stage (Beachday Everyday)

You’ll lose your mind and feel the energy from BUNT’s set that will feel like you’re being drawn into a party that only you and your friends are the main characters of. By the end of his set and when the tunes end you’ll have memories that stay forever.

  • Black Tiger Sex Machine (BTSM) — 6:50 PM — Bell OASIS (Main Stage)

Montreal natives BTSM will be bringing us to church. Their music is a symbolism of religion. Montreal is truly a basshead capital so a crowd of their very own will increase the festival energy and open up the moshpits.

Sunday, August 10

  • SNAILS — 5:00 PM — Mirage Stage (Beachday Everyday)

Another Montreal native that will be making an appearance will be SNAILS. What makes SNAILS a top must see act is SNAILS is the founder of his own subgenre titled vomitstep. The grimy sounds will wanting to brace the railing while headbanging.

  • Oliver Heldens — 5:00 PM — Bell OASIS (Main Stage)

We already know your body will be going into “Overdrive” with how much dancing you’ll be doing at Heldens’ set. Heldens also has his own label titled Heldeep that has releases from others taking the Ilesoniq stage such as  Eli Brown, Kaskade, Mau P, and Maddix. Who knows maybe a potential B2B/

  • Max Styler — 5:45 PM — Neon Stage (Coca-Cola)

Max styler will bring us to the neon stage and to the dance. We know you want to feel the energy of everyone jumping, dancing and singing to the artist’s top hits and remixes.

  • Chase & Status (DJ Set) — 8:00 PM — Mirage Stage (Beachday Everyday)

If you have a backbone come through the mighty mosspits that will be breaking out at Chase & Status’ set. Some say even in a large area the energy of the drum and bass set still feels like an intimate Boileroom set.

  • Sara Landry — 9:00 PM — Neon Stage (Coca-Cola)

Finish your weekend with some hard techno. Sara Landry, the reigning queen of hard techno, will take the crowd deep into the darkness but with all the visuals it may even feel like techno heaven.

  • Bonus: Oddd Mob — 10AM to 3AM — New City Gas

Over here at edm house network we are always dropping bonuses. We also recommend the Ilesoniq pre party on Friday. NCG will be presenting Odd Mob for house all into the late night.
