77 London

77 London is a new venue for electronic music, offering top-tier sound and design for an unforgettable experience.

Hidden beneath Welbeck Street, 77 is the newest addition to London’s nightlife landscape. Opening this September, the 550-capacity venue is purpose built to host live events, combining world-class sound, advanced production and a layout designed for connection between artists and audiences. With extended DJ sets, live performances and a focus on hospitality, 77 positions itself as a central London space where music and culture meet in a way rarely seen in the city.

Design and Sound at 77

77 has been built around sound quality, with a full L-Acoustics system and KS21 subs providing warmth and clarity across the room. The venue is fully soundproofed and acoustically treated, giving DJs and live acts the freedom to push their sets without compromise. This attention to detail ensures that every performance, from extended DJ sets to intimate live shows, can be heard exactly as intended.

The design of 77 adds another layer to the experience. Robe lighting, lasers, CO₂ jets, strobes and LED screens bring a visual impact usually found in much larger spaces, while the split-level layout includes a mezzanine with direct views of the dance floor. VIP tables are spread across both levels with full-service hospitality, creating a balance between high-level production and a space that still feels personal and connected.

What to Expect From the Music at 77

The music direction at 77 is built around both live acts and DJs, giving the venue a wide reach across London’s nightlife and cultural scene. Weeknights will welcome live performances, while weekends focus on electronic music, including extended and all-night DJ sets that are rarely offered elsewhere in the city. This approach allows artists to go beyond the standard format and create a deeper connection with the audience.

Behind the programming is Eniz Hilmi, known for his work with Rinse FM, Mas Tiempo and major UK festivals. His vision is to bring a balance of global names and innovative performers into a space designed to highlight their craft. By encouraging longer performances and a variety of formats, 77 aims to provide music experiences that feel distinctive in London, setting the stage for both established and emerging talent.

Who’s Bringing 77 to Life

Behind 77 is a group of industry figures who have each left a mark on London nightlife in different ways. Jonathan Wade brings years of experience as a nightlife veteran and former Tao Group executive, while Eniz Hilmi adds his background as a tastemaker and programmer with credits at Rinse FM, Mas Tiempo and some of the UK’s major festivals. Alongside them is Sebastian Banovic, whose hospitality career spans well-known venues such as KOKO, The Roof Gardens and Tramp.

Together they combine music programming, venue management and hospitality expertise to create a space designed for both artists and audiences. Their aim is not only to introduce a new venue but also to set a new standard for how nightlife can operate in central London, bringing live music and hospitality under one roof in a way that feels intentional and lasting.

77’s Place in London Nightlife

London has no shortage of iconic venues, but 77 aims to carve out a different role within the city’s nightlife. Its underground setting, mid-size capacity and focus on sound quality give it a character that sits between large-scale clubs and smaller intimate spaces. By offering extended sets and a flexible format that supports both DJs and live acts, the venue opens up possibilities rarely found in central London.

Beyond music programming, 77 is designed as a setting for cultural crossover. With a fully soundproofed and modular layout, it can host album launches, fashion events and brand activations. This adaptability reflects a wider vision: to create a space where different parts of London’s creative scene can meet under one roof while keeping the connection between artists and audiences at the core.

77 opens to the public on Friday, 26 September at 77 Welbeck Street, W1G 0BB. With a focus on sound, design and hospitality, the venue looks set to add something new to London’s nightlife calendar.
