2020 proved to be a pivalate year in the career of Asco. Last year saw him team up alongside veterans Blasterjaxx on ‘Alive’, along with releases on well-respected labels Doorn Records, Maxximize Records, and Don Diablo‘s Hexagon. Now ready to take that momentum into the new year, Asco wastes no time getting started by combining with Mr. Sid to deliver a fresh take on the classic dance hit ‘insomnia’. Having collaborated alongside Olly James and the previously mentioned Blasterjaxx, it’s no surprise that Asco is capable of appearing alongside a new name and still turning up the heat.
On the other side of this collab, we’ve got Mr. Sid, and he is no stranger to the big leagues. Having previously released under Hardwell‘s Revealed Recordings, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike‘s Smash The House, and Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings, Mr. Sid has gained a loyal following over the past couple of years.
New Year’s day saw the duo unleash their modern and fresh take on ‘Insomnia’ and it delivers in a way many producers would only dream of. Editing the vocals slightly but keeping the iconic melody, the pair of producers build from that with low lying rhythmic basslines that drive the single forward. If that wasn’t enough, the single has launched the start of Asco‘s own imprint, CAOS Label. With many more releases in the pipeline, 2021 is going to be a huge year for Asco as both an artist and a label owner.
