Following up on the impressive releases of‘Encoded’, ‘The World’, and ‘Beta’ together with fellow Dutchman Nicky Romero, Hardwell continued his meteoric rise to fame in late 2012 with the release of ‘Cobra’. ‘Cobra’ was a more than worthy successor to all previous chart-stormers, kicking in with a big chord theme and building an explosive amount of tension — till it all breaks and the climax unfolds an electro bassline monster, unexpected but fierce and powerful just like a Cobra. The track’s finale lets all elements come together, making ‘Cobra’ a sure-shot at dance floor damage.

Behind the stage name Hardwell is Robbert van de Corput, a Dutch DJ who began his career at just 13 years old, inspired by the massive dance parties he saw on MTV. His dedication led to superstardom, making him a key figure in the EDM explosion of 2012-2013.

As we celebrate the 12th anniversary of ‘Cobra,’ we honor not just a track but a lasting legacy. It’s a reminder of Hardwell‘s talent for crafting melodies that touch our souls and creating dancefloor anthems that stand the test of time. ‘Cobra’ is proof of the magic that music can create and its ability to unite people on the dancefloor and in their hearts.
