Released 9 Years Ago: Alesso – Cool

Nine years ago, on February 17, 2015, Alesso, one of the prominent figures in the progressive house genre, released ‘Cool’, a track from his eagerly anticipated debut album ‘Forever’. This release followed the success of previous singles like ‘Heroes’ and ‘Tear The Roof Up’, keeping up the momentum leading to the album’s release. In ‘Cool’, Alesso creatively sampled Kylie Minogue‘s ‘Get Outta My Way’, infusing it with captivating vocals and an irresistibly catchy hook. The single was a resounding success, amassing over 150 million streams online, and further solidified Alesso‘s reputation as a master of progressive house.

Alessandro Lindblad, better known as Alesso, is a DJ and producer from Stockholm who has made a significant mark in the dance music industry. He gained mainstream recognition early in his career with his notable remixes for artists like Tiësto, Swedish House Mafia, and Avicii, as well as through his original productions. His remix of Nadia Ali‘s ‘Pressure’ in 2011 was a standout EDM track of the year, paving the way for subsequent hits such as ‘Years’, ‘Calling’, ‘Under Control‘, and ‘If I Lose Myself’.
