Released 10 Years Ago: Tiësto – Maximal Crazy

A party-starter with the biggest beats in the dance music scene, pretty much every single that Tiësto releases ooze class. Having ended 2010 in formidable style with ‘Cmon’ and starting 2011 with ‘Zero 76’ alongside Hardwell, the expectations for each and every release were extremely high. In typical fashion, the Dutchman took that pressure and thrived on it releasing the massive ‘Maximal Crazy’. With a melody to die for and hard-hitting, pulsating drops, this single had everything we loved from Tiësto and its popularity was there for everyone to see. This single recently celebrated its 10th anniversary on the 5th of September.

In 1994, Tijs Verwest donned his pseudonym: Tiësto. Today, the DJ and dance music producer is a GRAMMY Award-winning, platinum-certified, international icon. He is the only artist to ever hold the titles of “The Greatest DJ of All Time” courtesy of Mixmag, “#1 DJ” according to Rolling Stone, and “The Godfather of EDM” as proclaimed by Billboard. After making history in 2004 as the first DJ to open the Olympic Games, he remains a sought-after headliner everywhere from Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra, to Tomorrowland. From his high-profile residency at Hakkasan to his crossover success, Tiësto created the blueprint that defines what it means to be a success in today’s dance music world.
