UMF 2025: Wet, Wild, and Wavy

Ultra Miami 2025 was a wild ride—epic beats, insane visuals, and a thunderstorm that couldn’t kill the vibe. From March 28-30, thousands of fans turned Bayfront Park into one massive dance floor, and when the rain poured down, the crowd danced harder. Nothing stops Ultra. Nothing.
Sets that Shook the City
The lineup this year was completely packed with incredible artists and unforgettable sets, but I did have a few personal favorites: Axwell, Chase & Status, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, and Armin van Buuren b2b Oliver Heldens b2b Maddix.
Axwell laid down some of the most infectious grooves, Chase & Status set the stage on fire-literally- and Hardwell was an absolute powerhouse. Martin Garrix proved once again why he deserved to close down the festival, delivering massive drops and ending the set with his own live vocals. The real showstopper though? The was the B3B madness of Armin van Buuren b2b Oliver Heldens b2b Maddix—a set full of surprises that had everyone dancing non-stop.
Rain Couldn’t Stop the Rave
While the festival saw mostly nice Miami weather, Sunday brought an unexpected challenge—a heavy rainstorm that threatened to disrupt the final night of the festival. However, Ultra’s production team quickly adjusted, making sure that the show went on with minimal interruptions. While some sets faced temporary delays, the energy never wavered as fans embraced the rain, turning the downpour into yet another unforgettable Ultra moment.
Back to Bayfront in 2026
All in all- Ultra Music Festival 2025 was pure chaos in the best way possible. From iconic sets to moments that I certainly won’t forget, this year’s festival was one for the books. See you next year at Bayfront Park—same great energy, and hopefully a different weather forecast.

Here’s Why You Need To Go To Airbeat One

Airbeat One has grown vastly since its debut in 2002 and this year for its 22nd edition they pulled no punches.
250 DJs, over 225 hours of music, 200,000 visitors from over 50 countries, and countless unforgettable moments. The numbers only tell part of the story so here’s some of the many reasons you should be adding Airbeat One to your festival season for 2026.
The Stages
The amount of time and effort that goes into building stages is monumental and Airbeat One puts everything into creating jaw-dropping, vibrant, massive stages. The mainstage is a whopping 180 meters wide and 45 meters high. Changing its design every year according to the theme, the mainstage evolves from edition to edition. Words cannot describe the spectacle that is their mainstage, and it doesn’t stop there. Every stage boasts a unique style that catches your eye and boggles the mind from this years entrancing butterfly stage to the harder stage taking on the shape of a bulls head.
The Lineup
Afrojack, Maddix, Oliver Heldens, Steve Aoki, Vini Vici, Alok, Amelie Lens, Armin Van Buuren, Hardwell, Lucas & Steve, Timmy Trumpet, Dimitri Vegas, and Sebastian Ingrosso. All of these world-renowned artists took to the stage this year as part of the 250 DJ lineup. The pull that Airbeat One has for some of the best artists in the world is astonishing and makes for 3 days and 4 nights packed to the brim with talent. While it’s certainly a more techno and hardstyle centric festival, there’s still a diverse platter of genres to be heard to keep everyone entertained. In one visit you can tick off a whole lot of artists from your bucket list.
Pyro/lighting
Seeing pyro and fireworks at the end of the day at a festival is a lovely site. But what if there was more. A lot more. Airbeat One is full throttle all day with their visuals as even opening artists get pyro. Instead of fireworks only happening at the end of the day, they put on a show for hours with fireworks and pyro going off throughout DJ sets. This makes every set an astonishing spectacle that keeps on giving and giving. The flames go even further than just the stages though as on the arches over the walkways you’ll find more fire lighting your way to the next stage. For miles around you can see the sky being lit up by the array of lasers and other FX lights which are truly dazzling. Rounding off this years edition of Airbeat One there was an intense 15-minute firework show followed by Armin Van Buuren which is one hell of a way to end a festival.
The Themes
While a lot of festivals look fairly similar year on year, Airbeat One changes its look drastically each year to suit the theme. Every year they take on the theme of a different country with past editions celebrating the cultures of India, England, America, and this year Spain. The mainstages design is based around famous buildings from the country that’s acting as the theme as well as the other stages following the theme. The whole site is decorated to fully immerse you in the culture offering a fresh look every year. 2026 will see Airbeat One transform Neustadt-Glewe into a Dutch landscape with The Netherlands taking over the theme.
Site Design/Care For Festival Goers
The site, its design, and all the stalls make sure to cover you for everything you need in any kind of weather. They offer plenty of spaces with shade from the sun, shelter from the rain, and places where you can rest your legs. Comfy seating and hammocks can be found around the site which gives you the opportunity to take that much needed 10 minutes to recover before heading straight back into the crowd. In the event of rain there’s lots of solid paths around the site allowing you to get around without sinking into the mud. You’re also covered on the hearing protection front with plenty of stalls around the site where you can acquire ear plugs. Along with this you can enjoy a diverse selection of food with there being plenty of different food stalls to take your pallet on a journey around the world. All these things add up to make the festival experience a delight even when you’re away from the stages.
It has been another barnstormer of a year for Airbeat One as they have further solidified themselves as one of the best festivals in the world. It’s a sensory delight everywhere you go and it’s continuing to evolve with constant improvements being made every year. The festival will be taking place from July 8th – July 12th 2026 with The Netherlands as its theme. Make sure your calendar is clear.

New EDM Friday Releases You Cannot Miss, July 18, 2025

New EDM Friday returns with a fresh batch of tunes by Dimitri Vegas, David Guetta, Loreen FISHER, Oliver Heldens, and more.
New EDM Friday is back once again with fresh music from Dimitri Vegas, David Guetta, Loreen, FISHER, Oliver Heldens, EDX, WHIPPED CREAM, and more. This week’s roundup is overflowing with massive collabs, dancefloor-ready anthems, and genre-blurring heat that shows just how wide the EDM landscape has become.
Dimitri Vegas, David Guetta, Loreen – Pum Pum
Two dance music giants take an unexpected detour into drum & bass territory with ‘Pum Pum’, the first-ever DnB release from Dimitri Vegas and David Guetta. Featuring powerhouse Swedish vocalist Loreen, the track is a high-octane blend of rapid-fire percussion, fierce energy, and an unforgettable vocal hook. It’s bold, genre-bending, and marks a fresh chapter for all three artists involved.
FISHER, bbyclose – Blackberries
EDX – Moyo
Swiss house icon EDX returns with ‘Moyo’, a powerful, rhythm-driven single that blends his signature progressive style with tribal-inspired textures and deep club grooves. Out now via PinkStar Recordings, the track’s title, meaning “heart” in several South African languages, perfectly reflects its emotional and percussive core. From immersive, hypnotic builds to a driving drop built for late-night floors, ‘Moyo’ captures both movement and meaning. As EDX celebrates the 25th anniversary of his influential Sirup Music imprint, this release proves he’s still innovating, evolving, and shaping the global house scene with every beat.
WHIPPED CREAM – collide
WHIPPED CREAM unleashes collide, a genre-bending festival anthem that pushes her sonic vision to bold new heights. Out now via Monstercat, the track opens with haunting vocals, delivered by WHIPPED CREAM herself, before escalating into a euphoric drop packed with pulsating bass, rapid hi-hats, and a futuristic Eurodance edge. It’s raw, emotional, and high-energy all at once, showcasing her rare ability to blend powerful songwriting with leftfield electronic production. Following recent standouts like ‘never mine’ and ‘u don’t just wanna die’, collide cements WHIPPED CREAM’s status as one of the most innovative voices in modern dance music.

FVDED in the Park 2025: A Boundary-Breaking Weekend of Electronic Music in Vancouver’s Urban Oasis

FVDED in the Park returned to Holland Park this past weekend, transforming a quiet green space in the middle of Surrey into a two-day celebration of electronic music, dance culture, and nature. Surrounded by trees, grass, and wide-open skies, FVDED stands out from other large-scale EDM festivals with big-name headliners in Canada — offering a rare chance to dance on grass and in nature instead of pavement and parking lots.
The Pacific Stage (FVDED’s main stage) hosted some of the weekend’s most high-impact sets. By the time Honeyluv stepped up, the crowd was fully engaged and the vibe had come alive — her smooth, percussive tech house grooves set the tone for what would become a standout run of performances. Earlier in the day, minor technical issues caused brief delays, but any momentum lost was quickly recovered once Sammy Virji took over with his high-octane blend of UKG, speed garage, and club-ready edits.

Layton Giordani brought a darker, melodic techno energy to the mainstage, while Kelland delivered a high-energy hometown set that blended tech house with techno elements. KAYTRANADA followed with one of the most talked-about performances of the weekend — effortlessly fusing funk, house, and hip-hop. Tiësto reminded everyone why he remains a festival icon with a peak-time, big-room set, and Zedd closed Saturday night with a cinematic, high-production finale. Subtronics added a hard-hitting, bass-driven twist to an already genre-spanning mainstage lineup.

The Northwest Stage leaned into bass on Friday and house grooves on Saturday. Disclosure delivered a sleek and hypnotic set filled with groovy house bangers and their signature hits, while GORDO followed with pounding tribal rhythms and an unrelenting energy that lit up the night. San Pacho brought infectious tech-house bounce to the daytime crowd, bridging the gap between melodic and club-ready. Rising Canadian artists WaveReport and Marta also made a strong impact — both pulling early crowds and showing they belong on festival lineups alongside global names.
At the Forest Stage (formerly the Bass Stage), fans caught some of the most dynamic and experimental sets of the weekend. Maddy O’Neal blended soul and glitchy bass with precision, Levity showcased their signature cinematic heaviness, and Mary Droppins took listeners on a wild ride from breaks to techno.

The Propagate Stage remained the most unpredictable corner of the festival. Partyboy69’s chaotic, genre-smashing set mixed rave nostalgia with absurdist flair, turning casual curiosity into a packed dancefloor frenzy.
With great weather, smiling fans, and a clear pivot toward house, melodic techno, and bass — FVDED 2025 marked a turning point for the festival. Gone are the days of hip-hop headliners. What’s replaced them is a tightly curated, dance-focused experience in a setting that feels intentional, immersive, and distinct in the Canadian festival landscape.
